James C. “Cory” Griffin
Mississippi Litigation and General Practice
Cory Griffin was born in Mobile, AL, but has called Meridian his home from the age of five. Since 2013, Mr. Griffin has been a licensed attorney in the State of Mississippi. He has been admitted to practice in all state courts in the State of Mississippi, the Northern Mississippi and Southern Mississippi United States District Courts, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Griffin's areas of practice include medical malpractice defense, civil litigation, healthcare law, employment law, family law, and criminal defense.
Mr. Griffin is a 2006 Honors Graduate of Meridian High School where he lettered in three varsity sports, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mississippi, graduating with a double major in History and Political Science in 2010. In 2013, Mr. Griffin graduated from Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, MS. While in law school, Mr. Griffin obtained numerous academic awards and held various leadership positions, including serving on the school's Honor Council. He completed externships with the District Attorney's Office for the 10th Circuit Court District of Mississippi, the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Mississippi in Jackson, and the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate for the Mississippi National Guard also in Jackson.
After passing the bar exam in 2013 and before joining the firm, Mr. Griffin served as a staff attorney for Judge Lester Williamson Jr., Circuit Judge for the 10th Circuit Court District serving Lauderdale, Kemper, Clarke, and Wayne Counties.
Mr. Griffin is currently serving as Vice President of the Lauderdale County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Mississippi Bar and the American Bar Association. Cory attends St. Patrick Catholic Church in Meridian, where he currently serves on the Pastoral Council and is a lector. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Ole Miss Alumni Association. Cory is a 2015-2016 Leadership Lauderdale Graduate. In his spare time, he enjoys Ole Miss Athletics, travel, and spending time with friends and family. Mr. Griffin looks forward to growing his legal practice, and giving back to his hometown.
